Thrift Store Finds

Happy Saturday!! You know that I’ve been super busy the last few weeks with making a tobacco basket, finishing off the shelf for the kitchen, weaving, switching up my Kokedama balls, adding some plants to the family, making a wreath, adding a new display feature to the kitchen and finally I have gotten around to staining the dining room table.

Well I also headed out for this week to do some thrifting to find some items to put on my new kitchen display feature (post to come). I headed to my local Value Village.

I didn’t walk away with a ton of stuff but I found three pieces that really spoke to me.

One was this wildly overpriced cheese grater. But look at it… it has vintage charm written all over it ๐Ÿ˜

This vintage cheese grater had to come home with me!

Way more reasonably priced was this hand drawn picture I found. I’m not sure what it was about this picture, there is nothing overly special about it. The frame is chipped and the paper has yellowed, but I just couldn’t leave it there.

I look at it and see a piece of history. I think that’s why I had to have it.

My absolute favorite find was this handmade, hand painted ceramic plate. I love the colours and the bird. Not vintage but totally unique and it looks fabulous hanging in my kitchen (check back soon to see the reveal).

Look at all the details that went into making this piece.

If you are on the lookout for new home decor, definitely check out your local thrift store. Don’t forget that you can always paint away the ugly!
